“ Takeout on a Taco Thursday was so good! I ordered the four taco special: half chicken and half pork....plus the beef birria. Then added the grilled chicken, rice and beans. Guac was yummy as well. But the best part was the warm authentic welcome I received from the staff. I'll be back for their breakfast special since it's super affordable, fresh and delish flavors! ”
“ My granddaughter and I went to Mr Cactus and thought the food was good. Several tables were there if you wanted to eat there, which we did. It was very clean. There were brightly colored flags strung across the top of the walls as you would do for a party. The fixtures were colorful too and added to the festive feel. Our server was very polite. He handed us tablets that had the menus and photos of some of the dishes. For an appetizer we shared an order of elites orden(corn on a stick) . It was good but would have been better if it was warmer. My granddaughter had an order of flutes (corn tortillas with chicken) that she liked and I had Mi Pueblo ( chicken enchiladas) that was delicious! Both meals included rice, about of a salad and a lovely little orchid. I had limeade and I loved it! This would be terrific in the summer!! We shared a piece of tres leches cake. Sooo good!! We will return again, maybe order take out. If you enjoy Mexican for you will enjoy, or just try it!! ”
“ Solid find. A warm friendly small restaurant with authentic Mexican dishes. Great location close to both Flemington and Bridgewater. There's another location in Hillsborough. We stopped in on New Years Day for dinner. While not busy inside the restaurant, we could see many take out orders waiting. Service was very fast. Restaurant was very warm, inviting and clean with holiday and traditional Mexican decorations throughout. We had chicken tamales, huge, good proportion between the chicken, sauce and masa. Some of the best to be had in NJ. Birria quesadillas excellent. Sauce well seasoned, just spicy enough. The Mr Cactus house carnitas amazing - well seasoned, huge portion. Will definitely add this as a regular stop for us! ”
“ Always amazing food. I think it's even better than the original Hillsborough location! ”
“ I love this place, the staff, and the owners. Generous Lunch specials, great prices, excellent good, and friendly service. What more can I ask for? 5 Stars! ”
“ Yummy Mexican/Latin food in the area. Probably one of the best places for food in the area period. If I was in the Branchburg area again I'd definitely stop by again. There's a quirk however. The lady at the front/ordering table speaks no word of English and that is probably why most of the customers are Spanish speaking. There's a guy sometimes that is able to help that is fluent in both English and Spanish. But if it's just the lady, you might be really frustrated. It really helped that I'm half fluent in Spanish and was able to singlehandedly communicate my needs on the day where the bilingual dude wasn't there and she was handling everything herself. ”
“ Cute little place with a great menu! I chose this place because I knew my Dad would love the selection and he wasn't disappointed! There's definitely something for everyone. Guacamole was delicious, and so are the chips! So hard not to fill up on those! I ordered the empanadas as an appetizer as well but they are really stuffed! Ended up taking most home. The burrito was decent. The horchata was a little cinnamon heavy to me. Chicken quesadilla was yummy. Best of all was a tres leches dessert that I just couldn't pass up. Divine! Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be back when in the area. ”
“ This was a small location with a few tables, but it seemed like most orders were being taken out. The menu was much larger than I expected with lots of choices. The service was patient and friendly as it took us some time to order. The meal was started with their chips and green salsa. This was good. The salsa was flavorful with the slightest of kicks, but nothing too overpowerful. It was a nice start to the meal. For an appetizer, the tour for Mexico ($14.99) was ordered. It had mini tacos, mini nachos, flautas, wings, chorizo dip, plantains, and guacamole. This was a bunch of food, and all was solid. My only issue was with the wings. They did not come with a sauce, but they were extremely crispy. I actually dipped them in the green salsa! The tacos had just protein present but was solid. The nachos had a bunch of toppings, while the plantains were crispy and sweet. The chorizo dip had a good balance of cheese and chorizo. It did taste like canned cheese sauce to me, but still tasty. The flautas I believe just had cheese present. For an entrée, I had the carne asada. ($13.95). It came with two sides and a Mexican salad. I opted for the beans and rice, which went well together. Regarding the carne asada, it was very thin, but plenty of flavor. I thought it would be cooked a little too much based on the look of it, but that was not the case at all. It was appetizing. Will I go back? Yup. ”
“ Located in a strip mall but a diamond in the rough, great service and clean spot that sells low cost good food. First time eating cactus that was grilled, kind of taste like a better okra, had a lime taste, not sure if that natural or the soaked it in lime but it worked for me. Tortillas were impressive, I got one of each only thing missing was a margarita but they don't serve alcohol. Enchiladas was also 9 /10, actually enjoyed the food here & will return if visiting this side of Jersey. ”
